September 4th - Bluebell Railway & Ploughman's

Bluebell Ploughmans

Imagine travelling through 11 miles of glorious Sussex scenery behind a steam engine. Combine that with great company and the chance to relax with a Ploughman’s Lunch during your return journey from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead – what’s not to like?

Bluebell Railway was one of the first preserved heritage lines in the country, resulting in one of the finest collections of vintage steam locomotives and carriages – many of which were preserved straight out of service from British Railways.

This a self-drive event and the venue address is Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park Station, East Sussex, TN22 3QL – there is plenty of on-site parking.

We have 60 spaces available for the train trip and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Carriages will be reserved for our whole group and seating will be at tables of four people.

The Ploughman’s will be either Cheese or Ham and special diets can be catered for, as long as you notify us in advance eon your reply slip.

The train departs from Sheffield Park at 2.15 p.m., so please allow plenty of time to park. We should be making our way home by 4 p.m.

If you would like to explore the yard, gift shop or spend some time in the Bessemer Arms prior to our train trip, you are very welcome to arrive earlier and explore at your leisure.

The cost for Members is £29 with Guests at £35, which includes the train trip and Ploughman’s meal.

Please confirm your attendance by 31/07/24.

If you require an acknowledgement, please include an email address on the reply slip or enclose a SAE.
