Christmas at Windsor Castle - December, 2022
On a glorious, but very cold winter’s day, we took a full coach to Windsor. After meeting our Blue Badge Guide, we walked to the Castle to face the challenges of getting through the “airport security” style check-in.
Once inside the grounds, we made our way to St. George’s Chapel where we were able to view the memorial of both the Queen and Prince Phillip. It was very special and the Chapel is so beautiful – it took our breath away. We then had some time to explore the State Apartments and some of us ventured up to the Doll’s House.
After our visit, our coach driver took a route through the Royal Landscapes while our Guide explained more about the scenery before finishing off our day for a well-earned cuppa and piece of cake at Windsor Farm Shop.- Sue Russell.
"Just a short note to thank you so much for a fabulous day yesterday. We hadn’t been to Windsor Castle for over 20 years and had forgotten what a wonderful place it was. We were especially pleased to go to the Chapel – a magical place and so soon after the Queen’s death - we were able to see her resting place. To be in a place built in the late l5th Century and to marvel at the ability to do something like that so long ago was just unbelievable – we wouldn’t be able to see all these places without you organizing trips for us. Thank you so much.” - Joyce & Michael Eldridge
