Welfare Co-ordinator - Phil Rudman

Phil Rudman - Social Secretary

I was born in South London just after the end of the war and spent my early years at school with the likes of Derek Underwood and David Bowie before starting with Barclays in Wimbledon. I quickly moved down to Hastings and worked in Eastbourne and Bexhill where I met my wife Valerie. I moved on to Brighton LHO in advances prior to my first appointment as Manager’s Assistant in Burgess Hill.

I subsequently spent time again at Burgess Hill and Hove as Assistant Manager before moving to the Marketing Department as a Sales Training Manager at Ashdown Park. I returned to South East Region as a Sales Manager in Horsham and finally in Customer Relations in Worthing where I retired in 1995.

I have been with this club from the outset in 2001 as Social Secretary until passing the reins over in 2013. I am now taking a keen interest in welfare matters.

I am still doing a bit of admin work for a local IFA interspersed with a little Advocacy for people with disabilities, and as one of the panel for Schools Appeals in West Sussex. As one of the Alan Whicker Appreciation Society, I have appeared on This is Your Life, Nationwide, Derek Jameson and a few others. I enjoy my sports and music, and Valerie and I love getting away to cottages and in our caravan.
