A.G.M. & Lunch - April, 2026
We worked our way through the formal AGM meeting Agenda at a good pace. The Apologies for Absence received were read out and then last year’s AGM Minutes were approved with no Matters Arising followed by approval of the 2025 Chairman’s Report.
In the absence of Janet Russell, Tony Comber presented the Treasurer’s Report with the 2025 Financial Statements then being approved. The Social Team Report for 2025 was presented by Stephen Barnett outlining the events that had taken place that year and it was agreed as a true account of our activities. The Chairman thanked the Social Team for their hard work and for delivering a great social programme.
The election of the Chairman and Management Committee for 2026/27 saw an across-the-board re-election of the team. The Chairman thanked the entire Membership for their continued support and trust they place in us to run their Club. David Comber was re-elected to be the Accounts Examiner for 2025 and was thanked for his diligence in ensuring the Financial Statements were accurate and properly presented.
A question was raised under “Any Other Business” regarding the possibility of the Club allowing members to pay for events via a direct bank transfer instead of using cheques. The Chairman explained that this had been looked at before and highlighted some of the reasons why this option had not been adopted by our Club in the past. He undertook that the Club would carry out another review at the next Committee Meeting.
With “the business” part of the event over, we were served a delicious lunch by the friendly staff and look at the lovely view across the golf course. It was delightful to see so many happy faces enjoying the company of their friends and ex-colleagues. WHAT A GREAT DAY!! - Stephen Barnett
Another excellent lunch, enjoyed I'm sure by everyone who came. The business part of the day had just the right balance with formalities dealt with mixed with some humour. The venue is always impressive with good food served by attentive staff.
Sue and I had the pleasure of sitting next to an old friend, Neil McNamara on one side and a couple we had not met before, Ron and Pearl Robards on the other.. Well done to whoever arranged the seating plan.
As usual it was good to meet up again with fiends and colleagues. Please pass on our thanks to all the committee for their hard work throughout the year (especially the chairman) - Bryan & Sue Barnes
Waiting for the AGM to start (3)
