Social Secretary - Sue Russell

Sue Russell - Social Secretary

I worked for Barclays for 33 years from 1974 to 2007. I enjoyed working for Barclays as it gave me the opportunity to work in different parts of the company.

During my career I worked in:
  • Branch banking – across Guildford and South East regions
  • Training – at Teddington & Ashdown Park Training Centres, UK wide and also Barbados
  • Marketing & Communications - mainly in London, including Canary Wharf.

In Mid Sussex, during the period from 1989 to 1991 I worked in East Grinstead and Haywards Heath branches, before spending a short time at Ashdown Park.

I joined the Mid Sussex Spread Eagles club in 2010 through an introduction by Neal McNamara who I worked with at East Grinstead branch. We bumped into each other in the village of Lindfield, where I live, caught up on news & gossip (as you do) and found myself applying to join.

I somehow got opted onto the Committee in 2011 and organised a few events for the club during 2012. I must have done an “ok” job as I am now the Social Secretary for the club.

I am married to Graham, who is also retired and a keen photographer. We love to travel – Africa is a firm favourite, with Italy coming a close second.
