Arts & Crafts man William Morris was born in the Lee Valley village of Walthamstow, just above the city and just below Epping Forest. An award-winning gallery dedicated to his life and work is now displayed in his splendid Georgian Manor house home.
Upon arrival at the gallery around 11 a.m., we will be joined by a Blue Badge guide who will give us a good insight into the man before we follow the trail through the beautiful rooms that illustrate his many talents.
After our visit, our coach will take us through Epping Forest to the old market town of Epping, where you will have free time to purchase lunch.
Our afternoon will be spent on board a broad beam boat, cruising along the Lee Valley whilst enjoying a Cream Tea. Please advise us in advance of any special dietary requirements.
We expect to be on our way home by about 5.30 p.m.
We will be using the usual coach pick-up points at the following times:
- 08:00 a.m. – Uckfield (Bus Station)
- 08:35 a.m. – Burgess Hill (Civic Way)
- 08:50 a.m. – Cuckfield (Whitemans Green Recreation Ground Car Park)
