A.G.M. & Lunch - April, 2022

The AGM took place at the East Sussex National Golf Club on 21st April with 100 members in attendance on a beautiful sunny Spring day.
The AGM has returned to its usual slot in the calendar now that we have come to live with COVID. It was great to see so many happy faces enjoying the company of their friends and ex-colleagues. We worked our way through the formal AGM meeting Agenda at a very good pace and this year we were treated to an ‘Ode to the Accounts’ by Janet our Treasurer.
Last September’s AGM Minutes, the Chairman’s Report and the 2021 Accounts were all approved. Sue Russell gave an update on the 2021 events which after a COVID restricted start finished the year with a flourish and probably the best ever Christmas Lunch.
Thanks were given to Iris Stass, who after many years of loyal and dedicated service as our Welfare Officer, had decided to stepdown from this role. The election of the Chairman and the remaining Management Committee for 2022/23 saw an across-the-board re-election. The appointment of the new Welfare Officer is planned to take place in May.
On behalf of all the Committee I thanked our Members for their continued support and trust they place in us to run their Club. A list of the Club Committee is listed on our website.
Finally, as it was The Queen’s 96th birthday the Chairman and all present toasted her good health and we took a moment to remember the people of Ukraine.
With “the business” part of the event over, we were served a delicious lunch by the friendly staff and could gaze out over the golf course bathed in sunshine – WHAT A GREAT DAY!! - Stephen Barnett
"Just a quick note to say thank you for a very enjoyable lunch today. The food was as good as you can get for 100 and the situation first class.” - Rod & Claire Langridge
"We felt it only correct to write and thank you for yesterday. It is clear the work involved in organising events with such numbers and we were very impressed. The meal was excellent and very much enjoyed and you could not have 'organised' a better weather day; our seating at your 'top' table made us feel very grand and we much appreciated our time in such exalted company. All very much appreciated. Grateful thanks." - Alan & Valerie Clements.
