A.G.M. Lunch, Barnsgate Manor - April, 2019
The AGM took place at Barnsgate Manor on 18th April with 118 members in attendance on a lovely sunny Spring day. We worked our way through the formal AGM meeting Agenda at speed as usual. As this was Holy Week our Treasurer, Nigel Field, was unable to attend as he was very busy with his choral duties. Once again Tony Comber delivered Nigel’s amusing report (adding a few anecdotes of his own as well!). Sue Russell summarised the numerous social events that she and her team had organised in 2018 which brought back many happy memories for those at the AGM.
The election of the Chairman and Management Committee for 2019/20 saw an across the board re-election of the 2018/19 team. On behalf of us all, I would thank all of our Members for their continued support and trust you place in us to run your Club. A list of the Club Committee is shown at the end of this Newsletter as usual.
With “the business” part of the event over, we all enjoyed a very good lunch served by the friendly staff at Barnsgate who were coping with an unexpected shortage of staff on the day. So, whilst the service was a little slower than we were accustomed to, we still managed to eat our fill in good time. Tasty food – excellent company – and lovely sunny weather --- What more could you ask for! - Stephen Barnett
